Wanting the art to key off the red accent wall in their large conference room, a DC law firm asked Artists Circle to Source options. The task was made a little more challenging due to the dividing wall that enables the space to be broken into two; additionally, the art committee was split 50/50 between those wanting more conservative realism and those desiring abstract. These prints on canvas of leaves and water are the perfect answer!
Downtown DC Lobby
Look at these GORGEOUS prints we just installed in a lobby on 14th Street! To keep with the sleek design of the space, we had our framer mount these to Plexiglas for a clean, frameless look.
Thematic Artwork: Real Estate Investment
Artists Circle recently completed a project for Bentall Kennedy's new office space in Bethesda. The real estate investment and advisory firm wanted new artwork that tied into their mission as well as complemented their sleek new facility.
The sculpture commissioned for the reception area used aluminum and wood panels to allude to the company's emphasis on sustainable, green building.
This 4 panel painting placed outside the kitchen and lounge area reflects the city plan of Washington, DC viewed from Rosslyn, VA. The company provides advice for multi-residential, industrial, retail, and corporate properties throughout the country and abroad.
Conference room artwork reflects both abstract and and literal interpretations of architectural landmarks in the DC area by local artists.
M Flats in Crystal City
"I love working on projects when there is a theme involved!" says Sr. Associate Katie Giganti, shortly after wrapping up a recent installation for M Flats, a multifamily building in Crystal City. "In this case the designer came to us with the concept; the project site was so close to various methods of transportation: the airport, metro, and roads that they felt it was only natural for those conditions to drive the art. We sourced mostly local artists for the project, all whose work - whether more literal or abstract - responded to movement and transportation."
Concepts for Colorful, Modern Corporate Space
With a directive to source, "Colorful, fun, abstract artwork" from a client, we pulled together a variety of options ranging from dimensional wall sculptures to more affordable framed prints. Here's a snippet from our presentation...
Suspended Sculpture Proposals From Artists Circle Artists!
Here are a few photos from a recent presentation Artists Circle coordinated. Two nationally recognized artists flew in to present suspended sculpture concepts for a 10 story atrium in one of Washington DC's trophy buildings. We should know soon who the client will select and can show further design concepts at that time!
The Octave
Sr. Associate Katie Giganti and Installer Andrew Burans just wrapped up an installation at The Octave, a new multi-family building in downtown Silver Spring. The art collection has a hint of a music theme to it, without being blatantly obvious. We still have to return for more photographs, but in the meantime, here's a good shot we managed to capture of the first floor lounge area!
Rockville Fun and Whimsy
Many developers and property owners seek the professional services of Artists Circle for exterior and public art projects. Finding an artist who is capable of creating such artwork isn't as easy as doing a quick Google search. We vet artists to make sure they can not only meet the vision and budget parameters of our clients, but to make sure they also have the technical and engineering know-how to understand how to create attachment/anchor points for freestanding or wall-mounted sculpture. Over the years, we have heard so many horror stories of proposed artwork not coming to fruition - or a poorly installed execution of a concept - because of these logistics.
This is an example of a smaller-scale exterior project we worked on. The client provided site renderings and feedback as to what they wanted: color and something dynamic and fun for passersby to enjoy. Artists Circle proposed several artists for the site and ultimately settled on an artist from Boise, Idaho who works in metal, with a long lasting, weather-impervious powder coating applied as a finish.
New Artwork for Shady Grove Orthopaedics
First and foremost, congratulations to Shady Grove Orthopaedics on opening a second location in Rockville, Maryland! In order to brighten up the space for the physicians and patients toughing it out in physical therapy, Artists Circle recently sourced and installed a combination of abstract artwork and landscape photography. One of our greatest strengths as a company is our ability to meet deadlines and complete projects in a timely manner - only 6 weeks elapsed between our initial contact and getting the artwork on the walls!
On the Boards: Bethesda Multifamily
A few images from a proposal we just sent out! The space is super modern, with a hint of an organic/textural theme to it. We put together the below concepts keyed off the finishes.
